Develop Everyday Life Skills

Everyday tasks can involve planning, practice and routine. Enabling Disability Services offers life skills development support to NDIS participants, with the aim of helping people practise practical tasks at their own pace.

Depending on your needs and the support arranged, this may include practising how to:

  • Plan a shopping list
  • Prepare a simple meal
  • Organise a weekly routine
  • Manage other practical tasks agreed as part of your support

These are examples only. The skills you work on should reflect your own priorities and circumstances.

People have different starting points and learn in different ways. You can discuss the tasks you want to practise and the type of support that may suit you. Support should respect your choices and the level of assistance you want.
